The Environment and Climate Change

Global warming (aka climate change) is probably the most important issue to face our generation, and quite possibly any generation in history. The worldwide scientific community is virtually unanimous in its agreement that global warming is happening, that that it's our fault. If we let it get out of our control, the consequences - which will already begin occuring in most of our lifetimes - will be catastrophic. Just some of the consequences that can be reasonably expected are rising sea levels, more frequent and more severe natural disasters, large-scale food shortages, plagues, massive species extinctions, unprecendented numbers of refugees, intensified ethnic and political tensions, and a global economic depression the likes of which no one has ever seen.

The situation is still within our grasp, but we must act now, we must act strongly, and we must act together. Individuals, companies, and governments across the globe must each do what they can to reverse climate change. We will never get a second chance.

What can I do?
The good news is that there are plenty of things that we can do to reduce our carbon footprint. The key word is reduce. We can greatly lessen our impact on climate change by using the planet's resources more responsibly. There are many things we can reduce, and many ways we can reduce them, but three of the major ones are: reduce the amount of animal products you consume (meat, dairy, eggs, leather, etc.), reduce the amount of fuel you use (car, air travel, etc.), and reduce the amount of electricity you use. If you're interested, there are plenty of good resources on the net. I encourage you to so your own research, though you might find some of the links below to be useful.

maybe because I'm one of the many who are afraid and who wants to postpone the return of Christ. habang nag hohomily si father in the back of my mind I've been hearing a lot about this “Mayan Calendar” and about 2012. Naiisip ko tlga hala! gusto ko pa makaexperience grumaduate, magka boyfriend at magtrabaho, gusto ko pa magtravel all over the world, magka-asawa at magka-anak. that's crazy talk.. lol.!! But seriously the priest in our parish taught me valuable lessons 1) Stay awake because you don’t know when the time will come 2) I must achieve what God wants me to do 3) The coming of Jesus Christ was not something to be feared rather it is something to be expected, to be prayed, and to be longed for. 4) I MUST CHANGE!! I have to make good on my life.

The truth is Heaven and Earth may indeed pass away, but not before the Final Resolution in which good triumphs over evil and life over death. We don't know when or how that will happen. Those issues really don't matter. What does matter is that kailangan na natin magbago.

anyway, highway... Supposedly, last friday dapat manunuod kami ng 2012 pangit kasi ng sched kaya we ended up watching Tanging Pamilya.

Explosions, crashes, earthquakes, devestation, tidal waves, global warming everywhere in the news I am shocked that a glut of scorched earth post apocalyptic films have not been thrust upon us yet.

Nerd ba ko?

ba't ko naman na tanong yan. eh kasi wala lng. lahat ng blog entries ko eh puro tungkol sa school, school,school, school at school. Feel ko nerd ako. shheesh!!

Nothing new to report. Here it is. We all knew it had to come. We couldn't stop it. The first day of classes has arrived. But you know what? It's not all that bad. Actually, I am kind of glad that 2nd sem has started again. The first three days of my class turned out to be fantastic. I got up at 8 or 9am. having went to bed at the ridiculous time of 12pm (normally i don’t go to bed ’til 3am). gettting up is so bad. then again it’s a novelty, it won’t be so painless in a few weeks time once the weather gets worse and the school-ing gets harder. Everyone has been great kahit maraming ginagawa sa Society.. the energy is contagious. We got plenty of hours to kill. Roll on next week I say. btw Hillary Clinton went to my school. just sharing. hahaha!

Friday the 13th phobia? naaah. Pag ganito ang petsa people are afraid something tragic or ominous would happen. The origins of all this fear of the number 13 and Friday the 13th are open for debate.
Some say it has to do with a particular Friday the 13th in the 1300s, when some particularly unlucky knights were burned at the stake. Some people suspects it may have something to do with Jesus Christ, who was crucified on a Friday after a Last Supper attended by 13 people, one of whom was Judas Iscariot. and so on.. Ang mga araw na friday the 13th na dumaan sa buhay ko puro magaganda pa nga ang nangyayari. Simulan natin nyung 2nd year hs ako. Feb. 13, friday- Highschool night... lalalala.. love.. wag na natin ungkatin un. kinikilig lng ako. today is friday the 13th but things went well. why human beings first associated the number 13 with misfortune?? I don't buy any of this. kasi ganito lang yan people-- it is just a stupid superstition. pero sabi nga "There are only a few Friday the 13ths, so why test fate?"

Together w/ Bey, Cezlie, Jm, Artutro and Joan we watched Tanging pamilya. I didn’t really have any interest in seeing this kind of movie. Pero masyado silang mapilit. so go lng despite the heavy rain. I went in with very low expectations but it ended up being not as bad as I thought it would be. I was actually entertained by this movie for some reason. It wasn’t particularly great in any way, shape or form, but for some reason I thought it was cute? (ano bang tamang term) I even found myself getting emotional when the wedding ceremony of Charlie and Prince was postponed then di tinuloy yung kasal. (sob..sob..sob)

VERIDBA S MIRJANOM

IAKO ima samo 21 godinu, već je stavio verenički prsten na ruku svoje devojke Mirjane, koju je upoznao bizarnim spletom okolnosti.-Verio sam se posle Univerzijade, kada sam dobio nekoliko slobodnih dana. Upoznali smo se na prilično neverovatan način, pre skoro dve godine. Taman sam počeo dobro da igram u Austriji i desi mi se da slomim nogu. Nisam mogao da verujem da sam toliki maler. Ispostavilo se da je dobro ispalo. Tražio sam da idem u Beograd na rehabilitaciju i posle dve-tri nedelje terapija, dan posle Nove godine, upoznao sam Mirjanu na reprizi novogodišnje noći. Da nisam slomio nogu, ne bi bilo ni veridbe.

clearance/enrollment day

Damn!! I guess it was AB and Archi enrollment day but the Thomasian attendance is at an historic level. It’s my first time to experience a tougher time enrolling. Tengnginang pila yan. After the enrollment I stayed at school for awhile. Darn! It’s been pretty fun. Fun, fun, fun time with my college friends.!!

In addition, I'm going to have a new car and I will finally be settled into my new dorm.

Juggling is a skill that only a handful of people have but juggling classes and maintaining a social life is a skill that college students become a pro at. I shouldn’t be such a worrywart; instead go about this change with an optimistic mind and hopeful heart. If you are having trouble in school staying sane while keeping up with almost as many things, you can do it because the trick to juggling is just to keep a balance. Why I am saying this? Because in a few days my classes will be back again.. So far it’s not bad at all. In fact, I am excited for this semester; but aren’t we all in the beginning? but I can't help it, I was beginning to glance already ahead and take a look at the Christmas break..
