Indie Un-Film 2012

The 9th Annual Interschool Digital Film Competition held at Terese Yuchengco Auditorium, De La Salle University

3 entries that I love
Bright Yellow (music video) by Natileigh Sitoy
My 2nd Short by  Gian Vargas - Caluag
Viscera by Herwin Cabasal

Then a quick dinner at Army Navy, Taft.  We got there in one piece with empty [insert: hungry] stomachs. The place is very simple but the food is so far from that. Every meal is such a kick.

Graduation Day

March 30, 2012- The day which marks the pages of life with utmost delight and a great sense of achievement. With my parents and friends by my side, I walked toward the main entrance of the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion. This walk was not like my last walk on campus. Each and every step of mine was attached to a sense of fulfillment. The awareness of completing my academic profile to a degree of satisfaction was reigning in my mind. The word graduation means more than a ceremony for me. It’s the beginning of a new journey – a journey towards excellence! It means new changes, to reach a higher stage of my life, the time to become a new person, the time to grow up, time to follow my dreams and separate responsibilities from fun. You know I started this blog as a student and now where can this blog go now that I'm no longer a student here. Yes, I'm now a graduate.

I put a smile on my face to try and force back the tears that started to line up on the edge of my eyelids.
As our names were being called off one by one to confer the Bachelor’s degree and as my classmates made their way across the picturesque stageTo be honest, that moment of time, I felt pretty nervous.

with beautiful Pat Evangelista
with Sir Tobias one of my most memorable professor I had in UST

If I really had to describe this memorable day, I would sincerely affirm that the blog space would not be appropriate as some feelings are simply beyond words. I sincerely congratulate all my friends who graduated in this academic year. We have fought the fight, and we have overcome, and we took our final walk in our stomping ground. To the Class of 2012, Congratulations!

Really, four long years have passed like anything. So real world, here I come!

Cornography

There is an exhibition at the MCA in Sydney by an artist named Fiona Foley. One room was ankle-deep in CORN! I went to this too!  It felt wondrous jumping around on it barefoot.
 Echos lang!

Here is the Filipino version of  Fiona Foley’s exhibit room filled with corn. Going to this place will not cost you so much. No entrance fee or whatsoever. K! CORNy ko!

This picture was taken during our immersion in Tumauini, Isabela. As part of our curriculum requirement, we had to go through an immersion. The people in the area are mostly farmers.  Oh, the yellow corn that I  stepped on.  Don’t know why but it has a very subtle therapeutic effect.

P.S. I absolutely love corn.

Part II: Letter to Ryan

Deareast Ryan,
Oh my goodness, where do I begin?

Since this is a 'love letter' a la Robin Sneed. I am not often lost for words, but this is one time when I feel somewhat awkward. Hello Ryan. I always had a kind of a crush on you.  A little crush that grew into something more. This was hardly a secret, since my friends were well aware of it.
As the days goes by I felt something strange as I look into your face my heart beats are not the same. Your gorgeous face I do see before me. That huge, beaming smile that made everyone else want to smile too. You make me smile like crazy. Whenever I see you, even for a few seconds, it brightens up even my worst days. You sound so perfect, everything about you makes me want you even more than I already did. Everyday that goes by I feel myself just falling for you. I couldn’t stop thinking that all night. Sometimes I wish we were in different places in our lives and I think about how we could be together in a perfect world.
Last night I felt sick. I could feel my heart break, just tearing up into two pieces. I wanted to cry. Pining over you from afar. Not seeing you is the worst part of the summer.

"Sana tayo na lang." Days like today make me think that it will never happen. No matter how much I wish for it to be like that.  It sucks you know? It really does killing me on the inside and knowing that I can’t do anything about it is hurting me so much. I know I might not be the most prettiest girl, I might not have the perfect smile, or the most skinniest body, but I know I do have a perfect heart that will always love you through everything no matter what.

My admiration for you  was the first of many secret crushes, loves that lived only in the margins of notebooks, in doodles and daydreams, in imaginary plans and playlists.

You have no idea, you have no clue just how much I think about you. I try not to stare, I try not to hide, I try not to show that I have always lied.

I have so much to say, I would love to say it all today. But I cant, for a certain reason, to my heart, that would be a total treason. Wanting to protect my heart from unnecessary bruises and cuts and it could backfire and ruin my friendship with you. So I keep it down inside my heart. I long to tell you, these many things. Maybe I will someday, and we will see what it brings. I promise you, they will come out, someday, someway.

Before I bid farewell for now, I wish to share with you a song which I sing in my heart to you.
